With Haworth Tompkins now moved over to the Wednesday Night league and Sean’s Army moving on, Maersk Orange and JTP was the new teams entered into the League.
Brewin, the defending champions continued where they left of from the following season and played some great football throughout but had a few scares during the course of the season. Apparently their Goalkeeper, George Still claimed to have made the save of the season. However, it has been difficult to find the save when looking back on the recordings. We will just have to take his word for it!
Allen & Overy were the surprising team this season, grinding out results when they looked dead and buried, they finished runners up in the end. Maybe next season they can go one better.
JTP played some great football and recorded some good wins. However, due to injuries and players being unavailable they could not field the same team out each week and this affected their performance. If they can stay injury free next season they could be a force to be reckoning with.
Incisive were again a threat to Brewin's title defence and Investis played with desire and a willingness to win every week.
It was Brewin however, who were in the end just too strong again and defended their title. Brewin is now the first team to win back to back titles in a Cityfives league.
With Haworth Tompkins, Cityfives Wednesday night league champions returning to the Thursday night league next season it will be interesting to see who will come out victorious next season or if there will be an outsider who will threaten our champions next season.
